All,

You already know that a factorial is defined as:

1! = 1
2! = 1x2 = 2
3! = 1x2x3 = 6
4! = 1x2x3x3 = 24

What is the process called if the multiply signes are replaced with plus signes?

1 = 1
3 = 1+2
6 = 1+2+3
10 = 1+2+3+4
15 = 1+2+3+4+5
21 = 1+2+3+4+5+6
