Minnesota's Kate Smith was ranked first in the WNBS for total points and three-points made. She scored 646 points making 355 shots, including 3-point field goals, 2-point field goals, and 1-point free throws. She made 27 more 2-point field goals that 3-point field goals. how many of each type shot did she make?
The answers are 152, 115, and 88.
I don't get how she did that question.
Can someone PLEASE HELP?
I've been stuck for 1/2 hour!  |

x = number of 3 point shots
y = number of 2 point shots
f = number of 1 point free throws
x+y+f = 355
3x+2y+f = 646
27+x = y
solve the system |

| Yeah, Why is it "27+x = y," rather than "y+27=x?" |

She made 27 more 2-point field goals than 3-point field goals.
So, the number of 2-point field goals (y) is 27 more than the number of 3-point field goals (x).
So, y is 27 more than x.
So, y = x + 27. |
