I seem to have a grasp on the determinates and just can't seem to figure out the cofactor mehtod.
For example find the cofactor for each element in the second row
2 -1 4
3 0 1
-2 1 4
How do you come up with the following 2x2 matixes with Mij total  |

To find, for example, the cofactor of 3:
mentally cross out the row that "3" is in
and the column that "3" is in.
What remains is the cofactor of 3.
It looks like this:
The cofactor of 3 is:  |
